VEILED

An introspection and search for identity in an enclosed environment (bathroom) that creates a scenario of self alienation – and the renewal that comes afterwards.

The project explored how an individual is perceived or identified in other cultural settings.  Is it possible to adopt a different personality I order to fit into this new environment?  How does one deal with the consequences of culture shock – anxiety, nervousness, frustration, fear, alienations and indeed anger – for being “coerced” to conform to the needs of the society.  The project shows that life is essentially a stage – we alter our appearance when we change or remove our clothes.

The series also shows that we are often encapsulated in ambiguity and uncertainty.  Through the various stages – the real act is the transformation of communication – the outward expression of our psyche.
